Spring Buying Guide

1 Jeffrey Campbell Lita Platform Boot, Free People

2 Falling Leaves Necklace, Forever 21

3 Olive Green Chunky Sweater, Rag & Bone @ Net-A-Porter

4 Leather Shorts, Alice Temperley @ Net-A-Porter

5 Pink Tan Satchel – Dorothy Perkins

6 Light Terracotta Blazer – H&M

Now then, a chunky jumper and a thick-ish blazer may not seem like a good idea to most of you, especially as we’re just heading into spring/summer. But, well, I live in England, where we won’t be seeing much of summer and, as for Spring – it’s usually accompanied by lots of rain. So, the aformentioned chunky jumper and thick-ish blazer is indeed neccessary. On the bright side, look – I’M EMBRACING COLOUR! :O

What are your key buys this Spring?

Sincerely,

FASHION GIRL

Heart Horace?

These new Royan Print T-Shirts by Horace are now available to buy on ASOS. I just love the originality of the ‘Yearbook Pictures’ design, and the ‘ZOMG’ and ‘WTF’ tees are fun, and completely relevant based on how we use internet slang today!

Also, these are some pictures of some jewellery that I bought, and I meant to post them, but I forgot (as usual),  I thought it would be fun to set them out like a jewellery shoot, rather than just wearing them, so here they are…

(Pearl bangles, pink vintage style ring, pearl ‘Honey’ bracelet, pink flower corsage, all Dorothy Perkins. Gold headband, gold bangles, gold bracelet, black ring, black bangles, all Primark.  Blue flower corsage, blue bracelet, blue bangle, all vintage found at Kennilworth Festival. Pop Rocks from supermarket and Elle June 2010 issue subscribed – I got hungry and wanted something to read so…)

Festivalness

My Sundays, as you probably know by now, are usually spent doing mostly nothing, but tomorrow I’m going to a festival. I’m super excited because I get to dress up festival-style! I’ve surfing the net for the best bohemian/festival-ly pieces.

Topshop have some of the best festival dresses, I like this floral number (£35) the most, the frills at the top and the flowy bottom is gorgeous. I’d team with pink, green or black doc martens to give it an edgy touch (and you can’t very well go waddling about a festival in sandals/pink kitten heels now can you!?).

This studded suede duffel bag in nude is very bohemian-y and perfect for keeping festival essentials in (plus it goes with the dress!!!!). You can find it now for just £35 at Asos.com.

In terms of designer wear, this bold-shouldered Balmain jacket is just irresistable. Wear to a festival with skinny jeans and army boots for a darker, military-inspired look.

So yeah, that’s the festival outfit idea that you lot should try. I’ll take some pictures and show you what I wore tomorrow, and I’m gonna conclude with Fyfe Dangerfield’s cover of Billy Joel’s ‘She’s Always A Woman To Me’, which you’ve probably seen in the UK’s latest John Lewis advert. I LOVE it…

Starting Spring

As I’ve said before, I’m leaving Autumn/Winter 2009 behind, and moving forward to Spring/Summer 2010. This Spring its all about nudes, embellishments, military, layering, luxe grunge, long skirts, small heels and much more. And so begins, my Spring Wishlist…

On countless occasions, I’ve seen women and men of all ages sporting lace up military style boots in grey, brown, black, blue…all kinds of colours, worn with jeans, skirts, dresses, shorts, anything vintage. There are so many ways to wear them, and they give any outfit a strong, edgy finish. However, since I recently bought some up-the-ankle velcro-studded black heeled boots, I’ve chosen to combine all the colours, in a more elegantly styled lace ups, £35 from ASOS.com

Still on ASOS, I saw this gorgeous Eclectic Friendship Bracelet, £8. The retro-inspired bracelet will make me feel like I’m 8 years old again, with its bold colours and funky pendants. I have to have it…

Next, I sought out that dress that I wouldn’t be able to take off throughout Spring. And I knew immediately which one it would be, when I read about the eye catching new collection from Oasis, made up of just three peices, it even caught the eye of Vogue’s Anna Wintour. I just have to have this Rosalind Prom Dress, £35, in Nude Pink. I’m going to pair it with solid black tights and stacked heels for a killer look.

Next, I’d need a jumper, for the not-so-hot Spring days and nights. Grey would probably be my best bet, to go with everything. And what better place to look than New Look? This Floral Sweater in Pink is a bargain at £12, and I love the pockets and detailed shoulders. I could wear this with leggings and heels, or just casual jeans. Perfect :)

Sunny Days need Sunglasses! So I’ve chosen ASOS Retro Sunglasses in White, £12, ASOS.

I really really would love to own a peice of Emma Watson’s range at People Tree. This ‘Please Don’t Panic, I’m Organic’ dress makes me smile. And at only £28, I’d be helping the economy. A must for Spring ’10.

And finally, this Pocketed Jersey Skirt, £12.99, from River Island is just perfection. Sod Spring, I will most definitely wear this all year round. *Squeals*

I don’t normally tot up the overall cost of my Wishlists (as the very thought of it just scares the life out of me!), but the total cost so far is £142.99. Now it could be worse. Not bad for the perfect Spring wardrobe I suppose. Though I’m pretty sure the list will grow. Well, we’re only just out of Winter……

High Street Heel Of The Week

A glitzy gold wins it this week!

These fabulous 4-inch golds from New Look, £10 named best High Street Heel this week, simply because they have everything: the ruffle pattern on the front, the interesting wooden heel, the peeptoe, and the pretty rustic colour. All key in S/S 09. I teamed them with jeans and lots of layers in similar colours: a tailored cream jacket, a crossover bag with gold accents, and a modern-vintage tea-coloured tee.

Winter Blues

The title of this post is a lie. It’s not really Winter. And I don’t have the blues. Nonetheless, it was Friday yesterday. I did not do anything remotely interesting. However, upon browsing the photography folder in My Pictures, I found this photograph:

I took it at the cemetary close to where I live. I thought it was beautiful when taken around December time when the icy roads were increasing. Now it seems so melancholy and unnecessary, and sort of it gives me a sense of faux winter blues. Yet, I can’t bring myself to delete it. Instead, I think of how we leave the snow behind, and look forward to the summer ahead.

So, in preparation for the Spring/Summer of 2010, I  kick-started with these vintage blue and white polkadot sunglasses, and Paul Smith Floral Eau De Toilet:

You Gotta’ Love Summer!♥
